Church Services at Botley, Curdridge and Durley
Church services are an opportunity for Christians to gather together, to pray and worship God, to learn more about God, and our relationship with him. While being a Christian affects every aspect of the way in which we live our lives, gathering together to worship is perhaps the most obvious example of this.
Church services in Botley, Curdridge and Durley cover a wide range of styles of worship and musical taste. Children are welcome at all services, however more facilities and activities for children are provided at some services than others. Newcomers will be made welcome at all services.
Children
Children are the most important people in our Church community, and so many services are intended to be both accessible to young people, and helpful to carers of young children. All 3 churches have carpeted areas where young children can play, and some toys, pens paper, books etc are also available. Usually at Family Communion services a Sunday school called "Young Believers" operates which allows the younger children to engage in fun activities, while their parents can enjoy the service. "Family Service" services are designed to be accessible to people of all ages, and so are especially suitable for families who can stay together through out the service.
Newcomers
We realise that going to church, or to a new church can be a scary, or intimidating experience, and we know that different people like to approach a new church in different ways. Newcomers are always welcomed warmly - if you would like to meet some people involved in the church, we strongly suggest that you stay for coffee after the service. Alternatively if you would prefer to keep a low profile when visiting for the first time, rest assured that you will be able to slip in and out of the church at any point during a service. The "sidespeople" (who will hand you a hymn book at the start of the service) are there to assist you - if you need anything during a service you can ask them for help.
